I occasionally open my doors to verbal vomit (see previous post). We all do it, if it's not person to person, then it may be email to email, or, on a blog....these things happen.
So, anyway in this blog, it's not really V.V, it just talking about what I've done in the past couple days. I didn't do anything, my boyfriend was here for the family night on thursday for my parents anniversary. We ate BBQ and watched Paula Dean DVDs (I own them, hate me or be jealous, it's your choice!). But on Wednesday I had a chat with the show runner of QPR...Queer Public Radio, it's on your ITunes. Anyway I told him how the exposed penis is not appropriate at a gay pride parade and he mentioned breasts.
Second paragraph....I don't think breasts are all that unappropriate (or attractive, sorry), they're not a sexual organ after all, I'd have the same problem with a vagina exposed in the same way. So, with this I ask, sexual organs, yes, or no? (in public with children around), breasts, aren't they just sexualized body parts after all?

Time...
Years are months, months are weeks, weeks are days, days are hours, hours are minutes, minutes are seconds, so why are people so concerned with how many seconds they've lived and how many they have left......there's now and there's then, this is what will happen when I'm 80 (then), this is what happened when I was 20 (then).....now is where we are.

It's a scary time of year for some people....it's June.

Here's the thing about June that people around here hate, the Junebug, that's pretty much it. As you can see in the picture (that I haven't posted yet because I'm typing), this is a Junebug. People are terrified of them, they're a bigger type of beetle that fly and they don't bite nothing like that, but they can get caught in longer hair. Women with long hair have been known to run from them screaming. What happens is they fly into your hair and they constantly try to fly out of it winding themselves up into a tight little ball in your hair. This apparently need to be cut out and this is explains certain hairstyles, don't you think?

Here comes the sun little darlin'
Ahh, spring seems to be here in Newfoundland, Canada.....it's about freakin' time. Two weeks ago we had snow and the winter has made me bitter. I'm not a fan of snow at all so green grass is great, mowing that beautiful green grass, not so much greatness in it. Although, you mow once and it's good to go for a week or more, with snow you shovel one day...then the day after that, oh yeah and the day after that.
So, spring is here, in a month it will be summer, so much for an actual spring, whatever summer is the best month anyway.....and yes I said "month" because here it's about that long most of the time.
I'm glad for the longer days right now but once the days actually get really long, it gets weird. Working nights and all, the 8am/8pm lighting similarity gets too close for comfort. I have (in the past) woken up very confused about the actual time, to the point where I've though and keep thinking, enough is just about enough. The going to bed when it's sunny and waking up when it's still sunny is really hard. I love the sun on my days off, there's nothing better, but when I'm working I just want to turn off the sun in the summer. Sun all the time gets as depressing as darkness all the time, it's really odd. Like I said, I love the sun when I'm off but I prefer the darkness, after almost a decade of being awake at night all year long, it makes you like it more. I love walking at night in the summer, I don't think I've ever experienced anything more peaceful than walking the empty streets of a sleeping town at 4am when it's hot and windy outside. It's great, if you haven't tried it, try it, sleep all day and take a walk at night on some summer night (if you're in a safe, smaller sized area) it's quiet and it's almost like owning a town for a minute.
Alright, well, there's my little entry for the time being.

Why a 30 entry blog post is an impossible task....
Because it just is, damn it!
I never should've started the thing in the first place. I'm going to call it a 30 entry (whenever I want and not one after another)blog post, who cares anyway. I'll finish it in time, I don't even remember what number I'm on...hmm.
What has happened in the past little while, well, I've come into the technology age for real, real, REAL. Actually that's only partially true because I bought myself a laptop for my birthday, and recieved a cellphone for my birthday. How much technology does a person need? Ok, so when I got the laptop I kept saying "I don't need a cellphone now, because I have a laptop!", I know, I know, they're not the same. I don't drive so there's no actual need for a cellphone because the bf drives and he has a cellphone. I have voicemail on my phone at home, email, messengers of various sorts on computers, so I don't really need to text plus, I have a really hard time with that. I did text one of my friends and she was surprised that I have a cellphone now, it took me two days to reply to her...no joke. So my parents are the ones who got me this little prepaid cellphone and I felt bad when they gave it to me, I really did. They do that thing that people sometimes do where they try to get you excited or whatever for whatever they've bought you. So, my parents being people like that, kept mentioning things about cellphones randomly everytime we'd have a conversation. I kept my replies to a minimum of "Why would I need a cellphone? I pay for voice mail and I don't need someone being able to call me all the time, that's why I have voice mail....", my grandmother even got in on the act and we had a good 20 minute conversation about the uselessness of cellphones. Yeah, then the next day opening up a cellphone and going "Oh, wow, I have a cellphone now" is just less convincing after a conversation like that. My grandmother pulled me aside and said "I knew they got you a cellphone, I love having mine and you'll learn how to use yours don't worry!" Yes, my grandmother has a cellphone. So, it's a prepaid cellphone, it has been almost a month now so the prepaid aspect is almost gone. I've sent maybe 12 texts (I can use 250 a month...) and placed maybe 3 calls (that shit is 30 cents a minute for local and 40 cents a minute for long distance!). I've recieved maybe 15 texts, and 5 of those were from someone who had the wrong number, "if ur goin out 2nite and didnt tel me i'll shit", my reply was "sorry, wrong number", and I got a reply back "wut", "you have dialed the wrong number and you're texting the wrong person, sorry about that!" "ok whutevr". I'm convinced that texting makes people semi-mentally retarded. You can type a full word, correctly, with all the letters now and not get charged extra! Anyway, the thing about the cellphone is a bit of a run on and I'm going to end about that.
Onto the laptop, it's good. Whatelse is there to say besides my grandmother is worried about it. She told me to make sure not to actually use it on my lap because apparently she's worried about my sperm count and getting testicular cancer. I am afterall, the only son in the family who still has active sperm, hahaha. My brother had a vasectomy when he was 25....uh-huh and not for medical reasons, but that's another story.
So, to recap the above, in the span of about a month now, I've switched over to a laptop and I have wireless internet, considering how less than a year ago, I was using dial-up that's a long way. I also own a cellphone, when it eventually dies though I'll keep it with me and use it to get out of awkward conversations, so that's useful, haha.
Onto real life stuff, relationship is good, although he did comment on how my birthday could be overshadowed by his mourning on the anniversary of Bea Arthurs death (questionable?), and then followed by the celebration of the royal wedding (also questionable?). It wasn't overshadowed though, haha. He did wake me up to watch that wedding at 5:30am (!?!!?!!?!) which I fell asleep during except he kept making excited movements and gasps in bed...yeah, not in a sex way, in a "There's the Queen! (insert excited movement)(insert gasp) In a yellow dress similar to that other lady!"
Moving plans are slowly progressing, it's looking like Toronto at the end of July so that's good but moving very slowly. He wants to literally get on a plane with suitcases and go, and I don't know about that. It could work though because my parents are planning on driving to that area in the fall and I can just pack up my stuff and get them to bring whatever I can't bring, with them. Being a DVD hound, I was in a panic but I bought 8 of those big cd books, so that should carry the essentials, haha. Who needs clothes anyway?!
Alright well I'm going to finish this blog post now, so until next time!

Saturday - 30 days of blog?
Well because I'm not going to be here tomorrow, I'm posting the second day of the 30 day blog challenge....I don't see it as cheating, I see it as being productive in this challenge. So, here it is but it's a tie! So there are two because I can't just pick one, that's like Sophie's Choice (and that is not one of the favourites)
My Favourite Movie(s):
And
Why "Pretty Woman"? Well, it was the first VHS tape I ever got and I still have it! The original from back when VHS tapes were $30.00 and I got it for my 8th birthday from my parents. My parents got me a movie about a hooker for my 8th birthday....it took me years to realize that my friend, Holly and I agreed that the handjob hand motion that we'd learned from the movie, was our secret hand signal of sorts.

30 days of blog?
Well, I've been thinking of doing one of those 30 Day Blog Challenge things. The reason is because I have nothing better to blog about. Maybe it'll turn into a running theme, after all who's favourite song stays the same for 30 days? I know mine doesn't! So, I found one....ok, I googled the 30 day blog challenge and I picked the first one on the list but it's not that bad and it seems like it has been changed up a little bit. So, first one, and it's typical and I've already mentioned it....

Is this the beginning of the end for a night auditor?!

Well, last night marked the end of my 7th year as a night auditor. Stepping into the new year I'm 85% sure that in a year, at this time I'll be doing something else, somewhere else. Ch-ch-ch-changes time to make a change, ch-ch....well you get my point.
Hopefully by this time next year I'll be off this island. Yes, it's beautiful and all that but really, at the end of the day it's still an island. Change is hard, it's hard to even think about without feeling overwhelmed sometimes. I even try to do the thing where I tell myself, "Change is good, it really is", you know that thing, we've all done it. Where we have to talk ourselves into making a really big change because you know that it's probably a good choice. Then you have to reassure yourself that even if the choice isn't great that you'll be able to make another change that. This is a blog for myself apparently, to reassure myself about the big change that's in the air. I should spew out something poetic like, it's in the air and it's.....blah, blah, blah, to the blah, blah and blah. I'm just not that poetic I guess.
The point is, next year I will not be at this work place. I just dread that I'll end up working at Burger King.....which is of course where I'd end up working right? There's only one on the island and it's 7 hours away and of course I'd end up working at a Burger King on the mainland somewhere, and I'll probably end up living in a box.....working in a Burger King living in a box in an alley probably. I hope my neighbours are nice! I also hope it's a refridgerator box, something with a little space, you know? I'd also prefer if it is next to a plug in and a tap. Now I'm just getting ahead of myself. I've just watched a documentary about homeless people that is invading my thoughts, hence the above. About that though, there was a couple in it who were homeless and had 2 working laptops that they used wireless internet on.....now if I were homeless and had really no money at all, I'd probably sell one, if not both, you know, so I can eat and stuff.
Anyway, this blog entry is running on randomly so I'm going to end it right here by saying, change is good.....right?

Has it really been 7 whole months?

Well, time does fly when you're having fun I suppose, haha. I guess it's finally time for me to continue with this. Hmmm, what has happened in my life in the past 7 months, well I went on that date it was good. We did have a second date that was...interesting, haha. So lets see where to start, where to start?
I don't know if I can tell this story without having it come out all jumbled so keep up. It was near the end of June by the time we had our second date so we decided to have a BBQ, so he came over and I'd told him that I had a dog and that was fine. He wasn't sure if he was allergic to dogs or not and had never petted a dog until he met my dog. Anyway, cutting to the chase, I'm at the counter cutting up mushrooms and he's standing beside me at the sink getting a glass of water (this isn't going to get steamy so relax, haha). I look over and he's taking an allegy pill, you know, just in case. I resume cutting and I look over and he's gagging and hitting his chest....yes....I did try and do the hiemlich (heimlich? I don't care, the spelling isn't the point) and then he died.....hahaha, no he didn't. He did push me away because he wasn't actually choking, he was gagging on the pill that got lodged behind his esophagus (again...spelling isn't the point!!). I told him to take a sip of water then...this action only makes a person gag even more and spit the water out. This didn't go on for 10, 20, or even 30 minutes....this went on for 3 HOURS! We thought it might melt after 3 hours, you know because it's a pill and all that. It didn't melt, so we got in the car to go to the ER (40 minutes away, and yes, this is on our second date, let me remind anyone who's reading this), so we get in the car and I make a comment "Wouldn't it be funny if it just went down when we get halfway there??" to lighten the mood. Now, I kid you not, at the exact halfway point, it goes down, the pill is gone. We pull over at the road sign that indicated that we were exactly halfway, it was that exact. We go back to the house and BBQ...hahaha, what a date!
So after that I'd already had a pre-arranged date with someone else the next weekend. That date was good as well but within 5 minutes of starting the date, the guy runs a stop sign, and we almost get into a serious car accident and he gets a ticket because you know, there was a police car just randomly beside us, haha, it makes for a good story, my little bit of dating experience in the early summer.
Now 7 months later, I am currently in a serious relationship....with the guy who semi-choked on a pill. It's going great, I don't have to have odd dates anymore and he has not choked on a pill with me since (knock on wood!).
What more is there to say in this follow-up? Hmmm, I'm still working the same job, nothing else is new. Life is good, relationship is good, everything is good.
So, I'm going to end this new blog entry right here.
Jeff.
